Got hit in the face

So, 3 days ago I got hit twice in the face, first on the left side and second on the right side both were pretty much right into the cheek. The left side just feels sore when I touch the lower part of my jaw and that's it but the right side of my mouth got busted on the inside and it is hurting more and more as time goes by I can feel two lumps on the inside of my cheek where it busted, one on the far right of my top lip and the other in the middle of my cheek. I thought maybe this increasing pain was due to it getting infected or something but I'm not sure. I've also since then been having bad headaches mainly in the middle or the front of my head. When I got hit did they do some serious damage to me and should I be worried?

Sorry, didn't mean to send it yet.  :(

I'm sorry you're going thru this.  I looked at your Profile to see how old you are.  Am I correct that you are 16 years old?  IF that's correct, I hope that you have told your parents or a teacher or an adult that can help you.

As BOTH Tuck and marycamel have said, you definitely need to see a Doctor.  I'm concerned that the "feeling" you're having g that you might be bleeding from your nose but your not, could be blood that you're not able to see because it's draining inside into your stomach.  As Tuck said, your headaches are nothing to take lightly.  You definitely could have suffered a concussion and that is very dangerous.  Please consult your parents, as I said earlier (if you are 16) and if you are of age then you need to do this yourself, and consult a Doctor immediately!  Don't waste anymore time.

I'll be looking for your answers.

Know we are thinking of you.

Hello and  Welcome to our Pain Management Community. I'm sorry to hear that you were assaulted.

The inside of your mouth and other soft tissue injuries will probably heal just fine with some time. I admit it's very painful. Try garbling and swishing a good antiseptic mouthwash. It'll sting like crazy but it will help with the healing and maybe even speed it up. Any mouthwash should be left in your mouth at least 60 seconds to be most effective.

As Mary so wisely advised - ice and  your choice of a NSAID should help also. Make certain you are not actively bleeding before you take a NSAID that could increase the bleeding. Acetaminophen may be a better choice for now. It does not carry the risk of increasing bleeding.

My concern in your headache. I don't know how hard you were hit - or if your head struck a solid surface - but I am concerned with a concussion - or worse. You really need to be evaluated by a medical professional. If your headache gets worse or you have other intracranial SX you'll need urgent medical attention.

Please let us know how you are doing. I'll look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Take Care,
~Tuck

A fist :/, thanks for the information though. I probably will soon considering it still hasn't really gotten any better. Occasionally I get a really big pain that feels like I'm bleeding from my nose but I'm not.

What were you hit with?  I would suggest seeing your doctor.  In July I took a bad fall and landed on my face on the left side.  It was bruised, swollen and painful and I suspected a broken or cracked cheekbone.  I figured there wasn't much they could do so I did ice and ibuprofen.  All these months later, I still have a bit of swelling and my eye is very puffy.  I wish I had it checked at the time.  Good luck and please let us know how you do.
