Help - Should I have Surgery?

In 2007 I cut my foot open in a hot tub and had stitches, I still have extreme pain and the doctors think it is nerve damage and want to do surgery. Has anyone every expierenced this before??? I am having a hard time with the fact that noone can tell me if the surgery will help or even what they will do, they say they won't know until they get in there. Help!

I have already had shots, a MRI and X-Ray. The shots of cotisone worked until they wore off and the MRI and X-Ray didn't show anything.

I looked into some experiences others had on having surgery for nerve damage and in my opinion it is very little relief provided in most cases. Now others may disagree and some may have had it done and can offer you their advice because I am just going on what I have read.
Try searching Med Help for nerve damage surgery and there may be some post on it in the archives.
Others will offer their opinions as well:)
