Help with getting off percocet or vicodin

Hi guys I am a chronic pain patient and have a spinal cord stimulator that isn't working. I had a block last Thursday and I am feeling pretty good right now. I am on percocet and I want to be off of it. Everytime I have tried to quit cold turkey it has been way to hard on me to get off of it especially when I am in pain anyway. My doctor wants me to stay on it but I see no reason to keep on it if I am feeling descent.

Can I stop in cold turkey and take tylenol with codiene 3 to get me through the hard withdrawels. Or do I need to just stop it. I have had such hard time in the past with getting off of it and I just can't go through that right now. I am not a strong enough person to get through it.

I guess that makes sense. I just get really tired of it, and let my emotions get the best of me.
Thanks

Hello Mishid,

I encourage you to follow your physicians directives regardless of what the SA Forum or anyone else tells you. You may be feeling well now but don't be so quick to discontinue the Percocet until your physicians approves it.

I sincerely doubt your Physician will continue it long term if you are feeling so well. Have patience. None of us like to take opiates however most physicians will react negatively when you disregard their orders. Have a chat with him/her on your next appointment and request to come off the Percocet if you are still doing well.

Good luck to you.
