Im just curious if anyone has nerve pain in there pelvic region??? It's so bad for two years now that i always have a heating bag on it and im on very strong pain medication, but doctors cant tell me what it is i have... Anyone have this at all?????

Just wanted to let you know that I, too have a lot of pelvic pain. I have Chronic Interstitial Cystitis (IC), Vulvar Vestibulitis (VV), and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD) with some Pudendal Nerve inflammation thrown in...also am to see Rheumatologist soon for +ANA/autoimmune/lupus? (as I don't have enough listed already, eh??..sorry, I have to sometimes joke to keep from crying...).The IC is a bladder disease, no definite known cause or cure at this time except for symptom mgmt. While it is mainly known as a bladder disorder, if you look it up it encompasses a lot of areas, my pain can be all over, including the whole pelvic area, mid and lower back, down my thighs and in my hips, lower abdomen and also in my "female area" including my urethra, at times it is really rough! There are a couple of really great web sites about IC, and they have been very helpful! I also have seen a Physical Therapist who specializes in the PFD, sometimes this can be a help, sometimes, not...The symptoms are different for everyone, and what helps or not is as well. I hope you get some relief and some answers...I was finally diagnosed with the IC by my Urologist (I have also had too many to count kidney stones, so already had a Urologist when my Ob-Gyn suggested she thought there may be more to my problems than the VV and The PFD...In 2003, the Ob-Gyn did an exploratory lap to rule out endometriosis, the Urologist did a Cystoscopy with Hydrodistension and that was how we positively diagnosed the IC. Welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am sorry you are having pain but I am glad you found us.

I had pelvic pain for years that physicians could not explain and I saw numerous specialists. I was diagnosed with a number of conditions, none of them the actual underlying issue. To make a very long story short my pelvic pain is a referred pain (nerve) from a very severe SI Joint Disease. Now that I know what it is from and what makes it worse or better, I tolerate it with less anxiety. I too use a heating pad and I have opiates that treat my SI Joint pain. So your pelvic pain may not originate in that area. It may be coming from another source. I would suggest this to your physician and investigate the possibilities that could be the actual source.
