In addition to my last post

I forgot to add to my first post (down a little lower) that a few times since I've been on Klonopin, which has been one helluva downer for me, I've fallen asleep upright in my lazyboy.  The Klonopin really kicks my butt...

Anyways, a few times that I've fallen asleep in my chair, when I awaken and get up, my feet have felt "cushiony" so to speak.  I have no fat on my feet, as do most, but when I took off my sock to see what was up with my foot I realized that they were swollen.  Usually, there are tons of veins that stick out of my feet and I couldn't see any.  My feet are long and skinny, and they look long and fat.

I also forgot to mention this to my doc today, which really *****.. because now I have to go back in :(

Anyone know of anything this could mean?  Any experience with this?  The only time it's happened is when I've fallen asleep upright in my chair.  Maybe something to do with gravity and my legs being upright??

Again, thank you all.  Lot's of good people on here.

Hi joleesdad:

My feet will be slightly swollen in the morning or when I have been off of my feet for a while and it is because of poor circulation. I feel that the others are right and it is the circulation in your legs. I wouldn't be too concerned about this.

If you feel that it is something more, then I would definitely have it checked out but I feel that the Doctor will tell you the same thing. Please take care and good luck.

Hey Joleesdad,

I agree with Sandee. When we are near motionless and our lower extremities are in a dependant position it is not unusual to develop some edema (swelling). If it only happens when you are in this position for long periods it is probably nothing to be concerned over. However your PCP should be made away of this. In my experience it is related to circulation. And many of us (even healthy) can experience occasional mild dependant edema.

However if this happens everyday or the edema is gross (a lot) and pitting (meaning when you push down on your skin it remains indented) than this may be something that should be of concern., especially if it some respiratory changes are noted.

I should have said "poor circulation" as you were upright.

It could be the circulation in your legs being that you fell asleep in your chair upright.
