yesterday I went to my pm  dr...on the script for my med's he had written the term " for intractable pain" . I will ask him the next time I go, in the meantime has anyone heard of this? I googled it and as you can guess thousands of sites came up.... Thanks to anyone who might be able to help...tresa

Hi Tresa47,
In tractable pain simples means pain that is severe and not relieved or managed by any other means or method. If you look up the word in intractable you will find:

1.Difficult to manage or govern; stubborn. See synonyms at unruly.
2.Difficult to mold or manipulate: intractable materials.
3. Difficult to alleviate, remedy, or cure: intractable pain.

intractability in·trac'ta·bil'i·ty or in·trac'ta·ble·ness n.
intractably in·trac'ta·bly adv.

I hope this answers you question. I also hope you are feeling better. Take Care, Tuck
