Is it possible to accidentally flush hydrocodone out of your system?

I had a drug test from my pain management office yesterday. They said my urine screen was negative for the pill I had taken about three hours prior to testing. I have been drinking a lot lately because of some undying thirst (and caffeine to make the long drive there). And I'm not a huge fan of water so not a whole lot of actual water consumption. I had drank about 40oz of a dr pepper in the time since I had taken that last pill and it was several hours prior that since the last one. I read some of the comments here suggesting to demand a blood test in such a case of false negative. Is it possible that I accidentally flushed my system clean?  I was under the impression that the instant result was a trace test more sensitive than lab tests. She sent it to the lab, but I'm rather nervous something screwy is happening and those results will not redeem me. Is there anything I can even do to prove that I actually was taking meds if that's also negative or do they usually overlook an isolated incident?

I am not sure how accurate those tests are.  I am highly allergic to hydrocodone (Vicodin or Norco). So when the test came back positive for hydrocodone, I told them no way... someone screwed up.
A 2nd PA came into my room, and tried really hard to push me into admitting I took it... these tests are never wrong. (Statistic, statistic, statistic, blah, blah, blah). I just sat there until he shut up, and didn't say a word. For like 45 secs.  Then very quietly, very slowly, said - "I HAVE NOT taken hydrocodone in 15 years. I am highly allergic."
After not saying another thing... he left my room.  My regular PA was standing in the room, trying not to laugh. She & I had already talked, but she had to bring in a 2nd person. (Office policy)

In your case, forewarned is forearmed. Most pain management offices have a set timeframe for testing.  Be prepared for a second test. Cut back on your fluids for the day before & of the next several appts. Just be ready to CALMLY state, I take my meds as prescribed. If the next several tests are fine, then cutting back the meds is your best option prior to testing.

Sorry - meant to add an additional note.  Try chewing gum for the thirst. Too much fluid is just as bad as not enough.  Plus, being on opioids, your teeth are in danger. Chew gum, use a mouth moistener (like biotine). Brush like you should, floss daily.
