Left arm pain

Hello,
I am a 24 year old female. I engage in a physical activity called Crossfit, which is a mixture of Olympic weight lifting, gymnastics, and track and field. I woke up this early morning to my left arm hurting so bad I couldn't go back to sleep. It feels like a dull ache, or someone punched me in my deltoid. The ached travels all the way down my arm, and is causing grip weakness. I tried rolling on a foam roller, lacrosse ball, and icing it. The pain is still there. Could this be a pinched nerve?

Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum.

This could be so many things from just over working the muscles to what Kbug suggested, a Frozen Shoulder.

Remember RICE when dealing with an injury. RICE, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. You may also want to consult with your local pharmacist on an appropriate OTC NSAID.

If the pain doesn't subside in short period of time or if it becomes worse be sure to consult your PCP. Best of luck and please feel free to let us know how you are doing.

Take Care,
~Tuck
