Lyme Disease Flaring and have post op dr app To go or not to go

by lesnbek, Nov 03, 2009 11:45AM
I had a hysterectomy last Mon and what a horrible experience that was. I will forever be scared to have another procedure done. I was finally feeling okay yesterday no belly pain and mild joint pain from Lyme Disease. I have been up since yesterday at 1pm. I knew not to overdue it-I picked up a few things around the house and made myself sit and mess on computer. It felt good sleeping most of the week and now back to no sleep for 2 days at a time. Then it started with Rt hip pain. Throbbing pain in the middle of my bone. I had just figured a way to pop my leg here and it wasnt working. About hour later i noticed my hands were not working right and hurt so i rubbed them and popped them all. It helped a little. I then noticed my neck was stiff and would not pop. Now i am a popper everything pops and when my neck pops it sounds like i broke it. If i cant pop several times a day my limbs wont work. So now i feel horrible and cant sleep.
I have a post-op appt with my hysterectomy Dr. which i am suppose to see pics of hysterectomy. I guess i was 90% endometriosis with scar tissue adhesions. I DONT WANT TO GO I DONT SEE THE POINT other than to see my pics. I was brave and talked to admit nurse before operation about me being a chronic pain patient with Lyme and i needed stronger medication than normal people who dont take pain meds. She assured me this wasnt a problem and told me to write dr note and give to him before surgery. My mom gave it to him and he didnt even want to look at it. Needless to say I was in tremendous pain while in hospital the first day but given ib profen for pain. I am pissed and tired of this ****. Why go he is just going to say you are healing fine. My daily prescription is for 60 mg oxycodone throughout day. I ended up waking up every 3 hours taking 20 mg at a time and am now gonna be short on my medicine. I do exactly what Dr say they say get your insides cut out i do it but they dont listen to me .

I am very sorry to hear that you had an uncaring surgeon. You were brave to discuss this with the surgeons nurse. I would be very upset also and I don't blame you for your anger. It is warranted it my opinion.

I have missed post-op appointments though I don't recommend it. You might want to call his office and be brave again. Tell them how you feel (with kindness) and ask the point of the post-op appointment. The surgeon may have information to share with you. If that is the case it is important for you to keep the appointment.

Good luck to you. Again I am so sorry that this happened to you. Please share with us what you decide and how the appointment goes....if you keep it.

Good Luck to You,
Tuck
