M.E/CFS PAIN & CHANGES IN WEATHER

I've had M.E/CFS since Nov 2010. The pain is severe but increases significantly in the cold weather. Which affects my sleep pattern more as once the pain kicks in I cannot relieve it even with painkillers. Then I am more exhausted than usual through no sleep. Seems though with M.E/CFS everyone is different with their symptoms. Is this normal? In the summer when it's warmer and when we went abroad I had more energy and less pain! Can anyone advise me of any thing I can try?
Thank you

It seems to me that adding a little activity, like therapeutic exercises (especially in winter) would be helpful - get them from a Phys Therapist. They tend to increase your body heat as well as increase blood flow which in turn increases oxygen and the distribution of meds in your system.

Hi,
thank you for your message;I have had checks and I am on folic acid daily for low B12. I have also had tests for my thyroid function which came back ok. I also suffer from reynauld's and anemia. We are looking to move to a warmer country as I mentioned before because the warmer summers and going abroad to warmer climates assist my symptoms dramatically.
Thank you

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Yes, you can have more pain in cold weather as cold weather increase sensitivity to pain. Other than this, you should also find out whether you have low thyroid function and low B12. This also increases your sensitivity to pain in cold weather.
Hope this helps. Take care!
