Migraine

I'm 19 years old. Last night I had a very bad head ache on my right side, behind my eye, my temple, and down the right side and back of my neck. My eye and head felt incredibly swolen. My right eye I had to take out my contact and it was incredibly red. I took migraine medicine and it didn't even touch it. Today I woke up and still had it, I took more migraine medicine, I am very sensitive to light and sound and feel very light headed and disey and like i'm going to be sick. Is it something bad that I need to get checked out?

Have a driver take you to the emergency room for this.  Your home abortive medication not touching the pain, the swollen feeling, the eye being red- all signs you really ought to go to the ER and get evaluated and treated.

Hopefully, the eye being red and the dizziness, etc. will get you in sooner than a lot of ERs seem to treat a person when they have a usual type of migraine (or at least the way they used to treat me- as a low priority).

you will get a better response at ask a doctor forum--try there. And please see your doc asap---or go now to a clinic or even the er but don't mess with it----ok?

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear you're in such pain. They way you are describing this headache sounds different from headaches you've had in the past. If this were me, I would seek medical help.
