Just be honest and tell him the morphine is giving you all this trouble. If you don't get the side effects from the oxycodone and it works, not sure why they want to change it.
Thx for ur post...roxi's help me also better than anything else but my Dr says I've been on it to long (8 yrs) & my dosage would have to keep increasing to help but I just don't know how to convince him without sounding to pushy & him get the wrong ideas ab it ya know what I mean..but the morphine has worsened my headaches & made me very irritable..plus it just don't help at all.any suggestions???
Roxicodone is a brand; oxycodone is the generic. I'm not sure if roxicodone has Tylenol in it (Percocet does; oxycodone does not.)
I don't find morphine helpful for my pain. It also gave me a constant, dull headache, which wouldn't go away with ibuprofen or Tylenol.
Oxycodone works best for my pain. I gave up the long-acting meds totally for a number of reasons. I may use them again but for now, I'm okay with the oxycodone and other non-narcotic things.
thank for your help...Is oxycodone the same as roxicodone???
i have had a similar experience with morphine-----it upset my stomach and didn't affect the pain very much! Your doc sounds like she (i hope) is one of the "good" ones willing to listen and wk with you. Mine switched me to oxycodone for breakthru pain and it worked really well----not seasick all day!You might try it. This is a good forum and also the Chronic couch for info and compassion. Let's fire this thing up for a while--0----get current. Get active! Get together! Go on tour------THE CP TOUR! WHAT???? Do the book. All can start right here. HA! Shanti. OM
