I have have the pain pump for the last 15 yrs. Batteries need to be replaced by your clinic surgeon every 5 to 6 yrs. What the pump did for me is give me back the quality of life I once had. Good luck. Pumps. Are amazing for pain control. I tale no orals either.
Your story is not to far from mine. I;ve had a pain pump since 2012. It has been a nightmare! I started out with Prasad (not sure of correct name) This med makes you hear music, very loud music..all the time. It;s one of the side effects. From there they switched to Dilaudid. Then because of a severe allergic reaction, where a pain center, put Bupivikane in the pump, mixed with the Dilaudid, cause it was doing nothing! From there it was onto Morphine , which, I;m recovering from being overmedicated. Even though the pump was monitored,,enough, maybe not. I;m exhausted, @ frustrated! They call me an enigma! Cause No one nows why or what is going on with me. I take my oral MS only when I need to. I;ve been to he;ll! I;m thinking of other ways, to deal withe the pain. Hollistic? I don;t know! Anyway, if you;re immune system, and your healthy, go for it. I wish you all the luck! But also be careful! Sarah
