Ms

Dear Doctor,
I am 37 year old female suffering from severe abdominal pains, similar or even worse than labour pains. The pain always starts during the day as mild pain, then builds up over few hours to "excruciating torture" which last about 10-20 hours. Then the pain gradually dies over few hours. Over the last 3 years I had about 5 attacks, and I was presented in A & E few times where I had done: USS abdo, CT abdo, X-ray abdo, bloods test - all negative. I went to my GP also, but nothing was done to help me. I also do not have any significant past medical history. During each episode I feel very sick, do vomit several times over night

Hi, Thanks for you e-mail.
In answer to your question: the pain attacks I am suffering from involve all abdominal cavity from top to bottom, and I do not eat when I am having the pain, it is impossible (due to severe pain).   Also, there is nothing I can do to relieve the pain. What's more, I have nil past medical history, and I had never any abdominal surgery apart  from laparoscopy, which was performed to exclude ectopic pregnancy ( when I was pregnant with my son) 8 years ago .
Regards Elazak

I'm sorry to say that no doctors participate on this forum, but I'm sure there are many members who have experienced similar symptoms.  Where exactly is the pain in your abdomen?  Right, left, upper, lower?  Does it get worse if you eat?  Does anything make it better?  Have you ever had any kind of abdominal surgery (including c-section) or gynecological problems like endometriosis?
