My 25th wedding anniversary

I know this is not a pain question but I just had to let you all know about my 25th wedding anniversary. My husband took me to Nashville for 4 days.We went the rural route avoiding interstates and stopped at every yard sale antique shop etc .It felt like an episode of American pickers. The coolest part is everyone we met was so nice.I mean everyone during the whole 4 days.We loaded up the car before we even got there.Once we got to Nashville he drove us to our hotel. It was a Hilton hotel very very nice.We had the best time ever down there. My pain was under control for  the whole trip .We did a lot of walking while there so my legs are a bit sore. But ,I will never forget this trip for the rest of my life.We reconnected with each other which was so great.Since I have been so sick he has become closer to his cousin .He helps him out with our garden and the farm .He does all the things that I used to do with my husband on the farm. They spend so much time together that I was feeling so left out.I got really down about it and finally talked to my husband about how I was feeling..He had no idea I felt this way and felt really bad .He took it upon himself and planned the whole trip to celebrate .It was just what I needed  and I am so happy .Thanks for listening .I just wanted to share my good news to all of the friends I have made on here. You guys here are the best and I appreciate each and every one of you .Just like on my trip where everyone I met was so nice it's like that here .Take care Melissa

Thanks to all of you! You know sometimes with illness it puts a strain on relationships .I have to say my husband has been so good , so understanding  since I have been sick. But I think that sometimes we put our relationships on auto-pilot.I believe that's what happened with us .But ,as soon as I shared what was bothering me to my husband he has made every effort in the world to make things right .This trip and celebrating 25 yrs together revitalized our partnership. We actually had a renewal ceremony in our room .We shared vows we both had written just the 2 of us there in the room .We reaffirmed the vows we had taken 25 yrs ago.It was the most touching and special moment . I will never forget it and what it meant to me. I look forward to being with him for whatever time God grants me here . Hey mummy3too this man usually hates to stop on any trip .I was shocked that he wanted to stop everywhere .We found some amazing bargains and really nice stuff. He probably will never do it again but it was so much fun .Our car was loaded down before we ever got to Nashville .Oh it was the trip of a lifetime all of it was incredible .Take care everyone Melissa

Melissa,

When I celebrate my 25th anniversary.... can I borrow your husband .... to go antique shopping???  I am sure my hubby won't mind - he hates shopping!

Antiques are just 'used' things to him...lol

WOW - what a great trip you had!!!    I am jealous in a good way!

Congratulations for 25 years !!!

Melissa,

I am, so very happy for you. Our spouse should be our best friend, our soul mate in every sense of the word.

It sounds like you had an absolutely forever memorable trip.  You have brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Marriages are like a garden. They needs lots of nurturing and tending to blossom and grow.

I'm wishing that your reconnection will continue through the next 25 plus years.

Blessings,
~Tuck

Melissa,
I am sitting here in tears so happy for you. I am so glad you guys got a great trip and the best part is you guys got to talk and he knows how you feel now. I am so glad your pain was under control also so you could enjoy every second of it. I can tell this trip took alot off your shoulders and that is GREAT!! This is a time that you will remember for the rest of your life no matter what.
I know with me and my husband we dont talk about my pain that much. So everything is pushed under the door.
I am sooooo happy for you.
Happy Anniversary
