My first appointment at pain clinic

Tomorrow is my first appointment at a pain management clinic after being treated for chronic pain by my PCP for 12 years. I am nervous and my appointment was made with a case manager. Anyone know what this is? Thanks in advance!

I know -- I've been through it too. Don't let them take away your pain relief. Be willing to try new things, but insist on keeping what works.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well, change can cause anxiety. Try to relax.

A case manager is a medical professional, usually an RN, who helps patients navigate the increasingly complex medical system. A case manager will review your case, match you with the proper resource provider, answer your medical questions, make sure you have proper prior authorizations for treatments, etc.
