Hello Mamasuan,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad you found us but very sorry to hear about your predicament. It is too bad your physicians practice has been disrupted by a few patients and you are suffering for it.
I do not know any physicians in your area. I am sorry to say that I don't know any members that live in your area either. I recommend you goggle pain management physicians and add your geographical area.
Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) 1.5 mg = Fentanyl 0.1mg (100mcg) per a nursing journal for calculations of medications. This is the comparison of your medication to the pain patch (Fentanyl) to which Mollyrae referred. It appears that Fentanyl is actually more potent than Hydromorphone. But I am very tired and may not be calculating this correctly.
At any rate the issue, as I see it is to locate a physician that will help with your pain control. Mollyrae had a good suggestion regarding consultation with your physician to request suggestions or referrals to another physican that may help you.
Please let us know how you are doing. I am hopeful you will be successful in locating a new PM Physician. I will look forward to your updates. Peace, Tuck
Hello and welcome to Med Help:
How bad is your disc problem? There are several levels, can you describe your issue. I also suffer from Degenerative Disc Disease. The reason I ask is because there are several other ways to help you other than the heavy narcotics you have been taking. Also with your Doc being under investgation this might give you the courage to become less dependant on the narcotics. I have had 5 back surgerys and I am able to wear just a pain patch that I change everyother day. If you have a good relationship with your Doc then he should have given you the names of some other Doc's that might treat you. Is it possible to ask him? Take care, Mollyrae
