Hello amymaebeth:
Welcome to the Pain Forum. RunningMom had mentioned the Gallbladder and as her symptoms did not fit the diagnosis it is a possibility that you also have Gallbladder issues. What comes to mind when you describe your symptoms is liver issues. I have liver issues and on days when I take more medication than I normally do, the right side of my abdomen will become inflammed which in turn will cause unrelenting pain in the lower right side of my abdomen.
Any type of imaging and even blood tests will not show inflammation of this type. It is possible that right before your period, this area for some unknown reason becomes inflammed. Womens bodys are complicated.
I would not worry about the cancer. That would show up in the blood tests that they have done. If your Sed rate and proteins are elevated then I would have reason for concern.
Keep at the Doctors. Pain is a bodys way of telling you that something is wrong. Get second and even third opinions. I wish I had further info for you. Please take care and good luck with a diagnosis.

When I had severe right side abdominal pains it was my gallbladder. The doctor I was seeing at the time dismissed my gallbladder and said I didn't fit the descriptions of someone with gallbladder issues. I eat very well and I exercise everyday(when possible). I was in severe constant abdominal pain for 3 months straight before he referred me to a surgeon. The surgeon ordered a hida scan and it showed that my gallbladder had stopped working. Before that I had several blood tests, MRI's, cat scans and ultrasounds. I had my gallbladder removed and the pain had stopped. I hope you can find out what is going on. Being in constant pain is difficult to deal with.
Hi Amymaebeth,
Welcome to our Pain Management Community of MedHelp. I am sorry you are experiencing pain surrounding your menstrual cycles. I am not sure if our forum can offer you a lot of suggestions. There is a women's health forum that may be better geared to your medical issues. However our members certainly understand pain.
Your Gyno probably guessed endometriosis because you have some classic symptoms if that condition. If I understand you correctly you see your gyno on Monday. So apparently he has not given up on searching for the cause of your pain. I would wonder what are your hormone levels. I would also imagine he has completed STD testing, if not I would be sure that those were all negative.
You are young to have gastrointestinal issues but I would not rule that out with your family history. In order to have that possibility investigated you would need to see a gastroenterologist.
I encourage you to be assertive you in search for a reason for your pain. Do not give up until you have answers that you are comfortable with. Pain can be devastating and reek havoc with our lives. It may take several physicians and time but continue your search.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to your updates. Take Care, Tuck
