New Perscription Law

I went in to the pharmacy to get a refill, and they denied the prescription. They said as of Oct 1 they would no longer honor refills on a narcotic and that I had to get a new prescription from my Doctor. Is this true?

Yes, as of Oct 1, the FDA rescheduled the opioid hydrocodone, found in medications like Vicodin and Norco.

Hydrocodone is now schedule II, similar to morphine, oxycodone, and other opioids. It requires a written prescription every time -- no refills.

They also started this in my state as of the 6th. Your doctor should help, they know when laws change.
