Nucynta ER

I have been prescribed nucynta ER 100mg 2x a day. So far I haven't noticed much relief. Maybe 20%. Has anyone else tried this medicine before? I was on Percocet 5/325 4x a day. I think the Percocet helped way more!

I had to have the pharmacy order it. I'm near the Seattle are in Washington. I'm going to give it more time. Luckily my doc has free trial cards so I get 30 pills for free. I had horrible side effects from the BuTrans patch. So dizzy I couldn't function. He will let me take 2 percocets a day but he's out of town so I have to wait til wed. to get a new perscription. It still isn't enough but I know he's trying the right thing because I don't want to keep upping my dose and run out of options later on. If that makes sense. I do like the clear head I have had lately but it comes with too much pain.

I was put on Nucynta (not ER) in January.  I did get tremendous relief from it (after years of a lot of different narcotics with little relief.)  I have written about in some posts from January if you want to look at them.  I had terrible side effects and I couldn't stay on it but the pain it did relieve (nerve pain and RSD pain in my arm) has not returned (though I still have it in my hand.)

I was told (by the doctor and the pharmacist) that it can take up to 2 weeks to metabolize in your body.  Nucynta is different than other narcotics.  My doctor had told me they aren't even sure exactly how it works.

It does not seem to be commonly used around this area and I also had trouble getting the script filled and it isn't carried in very many pharmacies near me.  It has been used in Europe for a long time.
