Pain all over the body

About a month ago, my mother fell really hard. She broke the fall using the plams of her hands(the region below the thumb). Since then, she has been complaining all the bones in her body hurt. She blaimes it on the fall, but I believe there is something else going on there that we don't know about. Don't get my wrong, I would have taken her to the doctor from the first complaint, but she refuses. She always says "doctors don't want to help people, they just want your money." Since she refuses go to a doctor, she also won't go to a Dentist. Her teeth are falling out, and she keep super gluing them in. No one in my family can talk to her to about it or she will go off on us. It's a struggle to get her help, and it's starting to wear us out. I'm only 18 years old, and I can only do so much. I just don't want to lose my mom while I'm still so young, and ready to add another chapter to my life.
Her age: 54
Any kind of help would be great. Thanks :)

Tuckamore brought up something I was thinking about...
This is from a dentist...
"As a dentist in the US, superglue will kill the nerve in your tooth over time, causing a root canal to be needed. If the tooth already has a root canal, it may not cause nerve damage to the tooth, but if it runs onto the gums, it can damage the blood supply to the gum tissue. The gums are a mucosal tissue, much different than putting on your skin. It has more nerves and blood supply. Also, most likely you would be sealing up tooth decay under the crown, causing it to eat away at the tooth, causing more tooth structure damage. Crowns usually come off because a cavity was under the crown. Here in the US, temporary dental cement is available in most drugstores, and it is the same as dentists use. "
Also though super glue is non toxic it is not good to ingest it and if she is using it on her own teeth she does ingest some.

Hi Gina,

Welcome to the Pain Management. I hear your concern and love for your Mom in your post. I am sorry that you are going through this.

Sandee has offered you some very good advice. I suggest that you approach her as she suggested, for you. Explain how much you love her and how concerned you are for her. I worked in the medical profession for years. I can tell you that in my opinion there are a very select few physicians (and nurses) that are in the profession for the money. However that is not true for the majority of the practitioners. If you know of a great physician or can get a recommendation for one from someone that your Mom trusts she may be more willing to be seen. Remind her that you need her for years to come.

I can't imagine that she actually super glues her teeth back in, I assume she has dentures!

Good luck to you. I hope your Mom realizes how lucky she is to have such a caring and lovely daughter. Take Care, Tuck

Hi,
I am so sorry for what your going through and your Mom's pain. I would sit down and talk to her calmly and explain that she needs to have some test done at least to ensure she is healthy and if something is wrong then it can be treated to give her a much better quality of life. tell her if she will not do it for herself to please do it for you! tell her you worry so much that you can't enjoy your life and you worry she may not be around when you need her and that you love her and she has so much to look forward too. Remind her about the grand kids she may have one day and how she would feel if she were to ill to enjoy them. All it will take is a doctors visit to make sure your okay Mom and give me and the rest of the family a great peace of mind>
I hope this helps! Keep us updated and let us know what we can do to help!:)
