Pain and bruised legs

by rooboo, Nov 08, 2009 03:05AM
Hello, Lately I have been having some pains on my legs it feels like a stabbing pain on the top of my lesgs, I have also grown worried since I started to notice dark purple bruises, what worries me is that I don't recall hitting anything.

I am really scared since I thought it was symptoms for HIV, yet test show negative. I am worried since the pain persist.

Also I tend to get random burning sensations on my skin, like hands and arms. I have been getting dry skin and weird blisters on my scalp.

I have been taking Multivitimins since I don't really have a healthy diet.

I am scared and wondering what it could be?

Hi Rooboo,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry that you are having undiagnosised pain and other issues. I understand your fright. I would be concerned also.

I do not have any concrete answers or even "good guesses" to what your diagnosis might be.  Are you taking any medications that can thin your blood?

How much blood work have you had done? It sounds like you may need your vitamin and mineral levels checked at the least. Request a platelet count, blood components play an important role in blood clotting. Bruising occurs when the tissues bleeds, usually as a result of trauma to the area. If you bleed into the tissues for no obvious reason than your platelets and other blood components should be evaluated.

You also might want to consider a consult with a rheumatologist. If you obtain no answers than I'd consult a endocrinologist and lastly a dermatologist. Keep looking until you do have reasons for your symptoms that are acceptable to you. Pain at the top of your legs can be from numerous issues and again sorry that I cannot guess.

One of our members may have better suggestions for you. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates with interest.

Take Care,
Tuck

No Rooboo, Centrum should not cause brusing. But be sure you are taking it as directed. It's not true that if one is good two is better.
