Pain in armpit

I'm 24 year old, and it has been around a week that I have pain in my left armpit, the lower part of it just next to my breast, I have been on birth control pills for more than two years now, but lately I had a continous pack for 3 months. so basically im expecting my period anytime now.

The pain is not always there, it comes and goes, but its sharp, My breasts hurt a little too, but I dont think its related to the pain in my armpit.

Any idea what it could be?

Sorry. I am not "up" on all the BC methods. My husband had a vasectomy some years ago and I have not had to worry about BC.

You may want to post this on the Women's Health Forum of the Gynecology forum. They may offer more information than the PM Forum. You are always welcome here I just want to make sure that you gather as much information as possible.

Peace,

Hello and welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am sorry that you are having pain.

The birth control (BC) pill may be causing all your symptoms. The hormones in the pill can make your breasts tender as well as your tissues in your armpit. There are lymph nodes that can be effected by the pill also.  Please discuss this with your prescribing physician. There are other BC pills that may have less side effects for you.

There are so many reasons that you could be experiencing back pain (I assume you meant back instead of pack). I would also discuss this with your PCP and begin a diagnostic process to rule out any disease process.

Best of luck and please let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to your updates.

Take Care,
Tuck
