Pain in inner pelvic joint radiating down the leg

I am a 45 year old woman, active but over weight. I have complain of pain from  inside of the left hip the pain is sharp like shocks.  Usually occurs when changing direction during walking. The pain radiates down the leg through the buttocks down outside of the thighs and ends at behind the knee joint and the this pain is constant and medium through out the day. The pain lasts for 7~10 days and disappears. I suppose this is due to wrong sleeping position.  I have this problem from past 3~4 years. Should I seek medical help?

I'd see your primary care doctor first and have him/her refer you to the correct specialty.

I would try and find out what's happening, especially since the pain is constant, and lasts for over a week at a time when it does "flare up". I would make an appointment with your doctor and just go from there. I wonder if you should wait for the next pain "flare up" and see your doctor then? I guess it depends on whether or not you can see your doctor right away or not. Again, I would certainly try and "get to the bottom of it". Good luck,
