Hello and Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us. I am hopeful that you can provide us with more information.
Is this pain from an injury? Often there is not an injury and we don't even know how our condition came about. Is that the case with you?
There are options for treating coccyx (tailbone) pain. Much depends on what is the cause. A close family member has had coccyx issues since a teen. There are several treatments that has eased her discomfort but it has been a life long problem.
What options have been offered for your treatment?
Sometimes sitting on what is called a donut can relieve the pressure on your coccyx, thus relieving pain. Have you tried one?
I'll look forward to your next post....which hopfully will contain more information. Thanks for posting. (Please excuse any spelling errors...my spell check in not working this morning.)
My Best,
~Tuck
It would be helpful if you could tell us how long you have had the pain, or how you came to have the pain in the first place. I do have a lot of experience with tailbone pain---I broke mine, have had surgery on it, and still have permanent damage to it. Have you had any imaging done? (X-ray, MRI)? I do know how very painful this is, and I'll try to answer any questions you may have.
As for myself, I rely on pain medications, and will also be having some epidural blocks done in the future, depending on some other health issues I have going on. Sitting is something we all take for granted...until we cannot sit....it's so hard to deal with! So I am very sympathetic to your pain. Feel free to read some of my posts from the past...I've described my injury and surgery in detail...hopefully some of that info will be helpful to you:)
Welcome to the forum:)
