Pain

My husband has been having pain for 5 days around his anus and on his cheek which feels hard to the touch in that area. HE WENT TO THE ER Tuesday and was diagnosis with constipation , he took laxatives and went very well but the pain has not went away . He also has trouble urinating. Went to the va hospital yesterday got a diagnosis of back pain giving muscle relaxer and pain med to treat RA , hasn't provided much relief, the trouble going to the bathroom has continued each day it's the same problem all over again. He is 54 years old . Not sick much at all . This came on suddenly. Can you please help to give us a idea of what could be causing this pain?

Thanks , he finally got a diagnosis Saturday morning at the ER it was a abcess above the anal in the crack so it was hard to see. It busted was we were in the room. Thought this would be worth posting in case someone else has these symptoms and can't find the source. He is better now taking antibiotic and pain meds

Hemroids or hernias possibly. Have him take 4 Advil to reduce the swelling (just in case it is a hemroid or hernia). Take him to a gastrointestinal specialist and they should be able to pinpoint and treat the problem.
