Post L. Appendectomy surgery

I recently had my appendix removed.  13 days ago.  Today I was shoveling snow and I felt something in my abdomen.  I stopped and went inside the house.  About an hour later I started feeling nauseous and light headed and I have increased pain at the lower left incision site.  Also over the spot wear my appendix used to be.  ( no incision over that area ).  Could I have torn something?  I have no fever so far but have not felt good since.  Could I have internal bleeding or have I just aggravated a wound that just needs more time to heal??

Hi Thale,

First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm from Tulsa, OK ALSO!!  :)

NOW - I'm SO sorry that this happened to you. I HAVE to ask what you were doing shoveling snow OR ANYTHING strenuous so shortly after your surgery??  I'm sure that you felt there was no other option BUT now you MAY have done something VERY harmful to yourself.

You NEED to call your Doctor IMMEDIATELY!!!    PLEASE DON'T HESITATE any longer!!! You may have done something that will compromise your surgery.  :{

PLEASE let us know what he/she says and what you find out as I'm VERY concerned about you!!!

I'll be looking for your updates.............Sherry  :)

Best to put a call into your surgeon, and get evaluated as soon as possible.  Especially if the pain/nausea continue for any length of time.  Have you had a post-surgical follow up?
