Hi - I've been coping with chronic pain for the last 5 years, due to Degenerative Disk Disease. I have had two steriod injections in C4 - C7, the most recent was two weeks ago. Neither brought noticeable, if any, relief. I tried the oral steriods (turned me into a manic nut) prior to the second injection which was effective by the brain chemistry aspect was not pleasant. My doctor is talking about a rhizotomy. I am currently taking pain medication, enough to take the edge off so that I can go on with my day but the intensity of the pain is increasing. I'm not necessarily looking for a medication solution but better the devil you know than the one you don't. Any feedback, advice, etc on the rhizotomy would be appreciated. I am working with a pain clinic, not an orthopaedic nor neurologist.
Thank you in advance.
