Stress side effect from severe pain?

I don't know if anyone can answer my question, but I was wondering if this is a side effect from the stress of being in severe chronic pain from the herniated discs in my neck.

When my pain is unbearable, at night my arms and legs will ache extremely bad.  I'm assuming its like restless legs and restless arms.  I'm unsure if it the same thing or not.  At times I will get muscle spasms in my arms and legs.  It's so bad that I need to move to the couch, so I don't wake up hubby.  Last night was one of those nights.  My legs are still very achy this morning.

Is this something I need to bring up to the doctor?  I'm not even sure if there is anything they can do about it.  Does anyone else ever experience anything like this?

I just had a new MRI and Cat Scan done 1 1/2 weeks ago.  I'm waiting for them to mail the results back to me for the written report.  I don't see the surgeon until the first week of October.  I have not had blood work done in the last few years.  I could bring this up to the MD as well.  He is the one prescribing my meds now.

I do know that stress can actually make you sick but am unsure of your symptoms. I think that you hit it on the head when you asked if you should bring it up to the Doctor.

I know that restless legs can produce a restless feeling, almost like bugs or electricity going through your limbs but I'm not sure that it can cause a great deal of pain.

Have you have a good blood work-up lately? I would suggest that maybe you have a thorough check up.

The pain in your arms and legs can also be caused by back issues and depending  on where your having problems in the back can effect either the arms or legs. Maybe some new imaging is in order as well. In any case, I hope that you find the source of the discomfort. Please take care.
