Hello, I have had chronic back pain for over 10 years. Have taken full agonist opiates ( Pecocet ) nothing
injected or snorted. I decided to get off the med and go to a Suboxone program. I went to two different ones
and they both not only judged me and labeled me, but also lied to me. I ask if they would put me on Subutex
which cost less and basically is the same thing. The doctor responded ,"we don't use that here. Five minutes
later ( they left my exam room door open, HIPPA violation), I overheard the P.A. telling a patient he would give
him Subutex. When I ask why they prescribed this after I was told they didn't, he just told me it was a special
emergency case. This place didn't even know they could call the Suboxone in and was making there patients
drive for an office visit to get there script.( More Money) Cutting to the chase, I could not afford almost 1000.00
per week for the program. I need to find a Doctor in Ohio that prescribes Subutex for Pain Management on a
monthy basis. Not one week at time. I have to control the pain to function at my job and with my family.
I don't understand the reluctance since Subutex is a partial antagonist, it controls my pain and lets me feel
like a normal as can be. I understand the medication is also something addictive. But, It works so much
better, more smoothly than percocet. No cloudy mind, no craving for percocet, can be called in, cost less
(suppose to become generic soon if not allready), and , gets my pain level down to a managable level. If anyone
can help me find an understanding Doc, that will actually see the whole picture and not only the fact that I have
to take percocet 6 times a day. I am trying to go the right direction and the docs dont' seem to see it. What
up with that?? I relly don't want to believe our health system and society could ever be that inhumane. Any
help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all. Calso
