What can I do to sleep while coming down off the vicadin? Ambien does not work. Sometimes even violent dreams.

Me, I went through the "normal" w/d physical symptoms- rsl, insomnia, diarrhea for about 7 or 8 days. I still have sleep problems with anxiety and some leg cramps- my dr. gave me xanax which i take only at night, when i really need it to sleep. it helps me. But i am an addict and don't want to take too much.
I am 57 years old. I have had some nasty dreams in my life, related to my tour in Vietnam. But not necessarily from coming off the vikes.
