Trigger point injection problems

I received trigger point injections in my hips and down the sides of my thighs to my knees about 10 days ago.  I had the normal soreness afterwards but they really seemed to help my hip and leg pain more than the two caudal epidurals I had.

The problem is yesterday the sides of my thighs became really tender and at two injection sites (different legs) there is a large knot (not a hard knot, but you can definitely feel it as you run your fingers over it - about 5" long by 2" wide).  It is sort of like a large welt but under the skin and very very tender.

Does anyone know if this is normal and/or will it go away?

Thanks!

I can't really remember why you get them but I have had them too. It is something to do with the muscle I thunk. They will go away in a few days though.

Hi Missy!

I'm glad to hear you got some relief from the trigger point injections.
I really dont know much about the side effects so unfortunitly dont have any suggestions for what the problem may be.
But you may want to call your DR to let them know what your experiencing. They may be able to help in some way or tell you not to worry about it and it will go away.

I hope you feel better soon and the pain eases for as long as possible with the injections
