URINE TEST RESULTS~~ NEGATIVE THAT SHOULD OF BEEN POSITIVE (OXYCODONE AND FENTANYL)

I have Arthritis, Fybromyalsia, Degenerative Disc Disease, Facets Syndrome, 3 herniated discs, high blood pressure and major depression.  I take alot of medications for the above conditions including 20 mg of Oxycodone every 4 hours and 100 mg Fentanyl Patch to be changed every 48 hours.  Recently I took a urine test at my doctors office that came back Negative for ALL medications.  As you can probably imagine I was floored and in so much shock when I received a certified letter from my doctor dismissing me from his care sfter 22 years.  I made an appointment and went in yesterday to  see him and plead with him my innocence and to beg him to please keep me as his patient.  He has done so many wonderful things for me and helped me with all my conditions including most recently help me begin recovery from an assault from a violent friend/family member of my husband.  After 45 minutes of crying and pleading my case he stuck to his original decision and sent my on my way crying my eyes out.

Has anyone ever heard of this?  What would cause my urine test to come back negative of all these very strong medicines?  Any responses would be great.  He will not take me back but I may have an answer if this ever happens again.

Thank you

What an *** of a Doctor. What exactly is he saying? That he he is giving you Meds and your Selling them because they didn't come back in your system from their faulty test? I can see if you came up Dirty, I.E. with an Illeagal Substance in your Test that Voilates most Pain Managment Contracts. I don't think their is a provision for what he is alledging.
I'd go over his head and talk with someone that he may answer to.
Look into things like this for your State.

Hi,
I am very sorry this happened to you but it is getting all too common these days. I suggest you ask the Doctor to do a blood test or you can order a hair strand test that shows everything you have taken within 60 to 90 days. This can be put in your file to prove that you did have the meds in your system and there was a mistake made somewhere. This will help in finding a new Doctor.
I have some articles in my journals about this if you would like to take a look.
I suggest that you start looking for a new Doctor right away. Is the Doctor you were seeing a PMP or PCP?
If he was your PCP you can ask for the bloodwork or the hair strand test and then when the results are in see if he will refer you to a PMP.
I really hope things work out:)

I would suggest to this doctor that a re-test of your bloodwork is in order - The first thing I would have presumed is that the lab either sent in the wrong test results or they did not use the proper testing sequences or the doc's office messed up somehow.  Really - most labs use your patient ID as their main input and one wrong digit could have mixed up the results.  Similiarly - some poor soul who does not take your meds probably is as floored as you are with their results.  Also I would DEMAND a blood test not a simple urine test.  You can also file a complaint with the medical board in your state and the AMA stating your case.  I know how hard it is to find another doc to pic up prescribing the meds you are on and I wish you much luck and many prayers.

I have no experience with this but it's seen somewhat frequently.  I just feel so badly for you, especially after having a relationship with your doctor for 22 years.  There are people on this board who will have suggestions for you.  I know one of the suggestions will be to try to find a new doctor as soon as possible.  Did your doctor leave you with prescriptions to carry you for a bit?

Also, the previous poster had some good ideas about other testing.  Maybe your doctor would be willing to try a different type of test.
