Ultram

by Patricia0513, Mar 13, 2007 12:00AM
I was taking oxycontin and oxycodone...I got off that **** cause I didn't like the stigma related to taking pain medications of that caliber... So, my doc put me on Ultram and all that did was make me dizzy, no warm fuzzy feeling...nothing. So, then my doc put me on Vicoden 10mg and still nothing no warm fuzzy feeling... What is going on? Can ultram make your receptors all messed up? I was off all narcotics a week before starting the ultram, which I did by tapering myself... Any hints...

You don't understand.  Patricia was posting in the other forum telling everyone that they had hiv.  Any problem they had she would say it "it sounds like hiv" It was pretty ridiculous.

Duh...I get it! I saw her post...she sounds pretty smart to me! Besides what kind of a ding bat thinks he can get something from a hand job! ;)

It must be the Vicodin doing the thinking for her.

Sounds like you need a higher dosage of Ultram.

Tramadol is the generic version and I believe the max dosage is
400 or 500 mgs per day. It comes is 50 mg tablets.

Be careful because even though it's not a controlled substance
it's easy to build a dependence on it and cheat by taking extra pills.

The generic is the cheapeast.

Ultram - ER is extended relief and might be better for you because the relief lasts longer and you need to take less pills. It's more expensive but if you Google it you'll find the manufacturers web site where you can print out a coupon for the first three purchase where you would only pay approx. $15 depending on your insurance. I recall the coupon for for $25 off each.

Give it a try as it did work for me somewhat but be warned it makes you sleepy and may possibly lower your libidio to an non-existent level.

I've since moved on to trying nerve blocks as I got tired of get sleepy early in the evening.

Good luck and I hope you feel beter.

Be very careful for other reasons when taking higher doses of ultram *read side effects*.

As far as the HIV thing.. There is plenty of people that still for some reason do not understand how it is transmitted......... but.... why would anyone go and transfer what ever she said in another place and bring it in here ?

you took something potent and went to ultram which in my opinion is worthless.the next step up is a pain patch maybe but I wouldn't jump into that just for a warm fuzzy feeling.  Get real with your doctor.  You may be an addict by now.

To: Help!
I have been on ultram for about 7 months. The first two months was legitimate (i.e. for pain). The following 5 months was because it helped me deal with stress and I was able to get so much done more easily during the day, and sleep better at night. But now I want to quit. I have never taken more than 3 in one day, or more than 6 in 12 hours which is still the recommended dose. This justified my use for a while, but considering I have no back pain anymore, buy the stufff off the internet, keep my drig use a secret from my wife and friends, and expereince terrible withdrawal if I try to quit even just for one day, I guess I have a problem.

I want to start tapering it off over the next week, but have no one to talk to about it. The withdrawal is horrible. I know I will feel it in every bone and muscle in my body. I quit 3 months ago for 2 weeks. The physcial withdrawal went in about 4 days, but the psychological withdrawal was with me a lot longer and made me relapse after only two weeks. I can't belive I am dealing with this. I have never been addicted to anything in my life.

Is anyone else going through this, and want to collaborate to get off this terrible drug. I don't have the time or money to go to rehab, so I guess whoever reads this is all I have for now.
