I was scared but now it's the next day and I have to get test done and stay 2 more nights and see how I feel my fever went down abit but not much I have a temp of 102 and I'm still hurting abit. I'm scared to get test done. What are the doctors going to do to me? What do I do while I here? I scared. And again I'm only 14

Glad to hear you are being taken care of in the hospital. Who is handling your health care in the hospital...your Aunt?

All you have to do is ask what test is being done.

It's amazing that you feel well enough and were able to get your computer to the hospital.

Usually with such a high fever for the last days...that would put somebody out and feeling so lousy that they usually sleep for a long time.Obviously there was an infection that happened after your first surgery...

I'm a bit confused on where you are living? Is it with your Aunt/Uncle and they left you alone after your first surgery? I would make sure this doesn't happen again...

Hopefully the antibiotics will start working...I can't imagine they will send you home until the fever is gone...

Hope you get better soon.

don't be afraid to ask the nurses and doctors questions until you get the information in a way that you understand.  This is a lesson that will help you from now on.  Ask until you get it.  I am glad you are being taken care of and hope all goes well from now on.    You made a great decision going to the ER!

Hi Summit,

I am glad that you decided to go to ER.  I wouldn't be afraid anymore as you are in a hospital right next to doctors and nurses that have spent more time studying medicine than you have been on this Earth.  They are going to take good care of you.

The tests are probably just blood tests.  They are most likely just going to draw your blood to check levels of things that can tell them how well you are doing.  They may give you some different medicines to help bring some of the levels checked back to normal and/or provide additional monitoring and rest in the hospital and recheck the levels a day or two later.  They will treat and monitor you until you are healthy again.  They also may take some X-rays or do an ultrasound near the incision site to see how things are going internally as well.

Have they put you on antibiotics?  If so, that is a sign that you had an infection near the area that was operated on.  This would explain your high fever and increased pain.  Once the infection is clear, you will feel much better.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.  I am so very glad that you made the RIGHT decision.  :)
