Odd as this may sound, you may have a nutrition problem. Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy) causes horrific bone and joint pain and B12 causes numbness, usually beginning in fingers and toes and spreading. If you eat balanced meals, you may have an absorbtion problem in your small intestine. Vitamin levels can be checked with a simple blood test ordered by your family doctor.
I battle malnutrition constantly due to abdominal adhesions so I'm intimately acquainted with it. My toes and fingers lost feeling a few years ago due to lack of B12. The numbness doesn't always go away as I found out with my toes. Something to check out particularly if a neurologist or rheumatologist comes up with nothing.
are you seeing a rheumatologist or a neurologist for this issue? Or someone else perhaps. it sounds like rheumatoid arthritis but yet it sounds like lupus or fibromialgia. Their are so many disorders out thier that it is difficult to say Yes this is it but keep trying to get the drs to listen & search the internet medical databases for the symptoms because sometimes we need to find possible answers to help figure out whats going on. Have they done any tests to check your nerves & how they respond? if nerves are damaged it is very painful & aggravates everything around them
