Hi. Sorry, I did not read your post as well as I should have. I did have another thought though. Have you had your Potassium checked?  Low Potassium can cause nerve problems in your limbs as well. I have had nerve problems in the legs and it was partially due to my low Potassium. Maybe you should have that checked......Take care

Oh am so sorry that they can find nothing that is causing your pain. And you may be correct as to why they are not giving you something for nerve pain. It took 15 years before they were able to diagnosis me. I know that feeling. But I gave up and just told myself what most of them were telling me. It was how I perceived the sensation, it really wasn't pain, other ppl would not perceive the feeling I was having as pain. In my heart I didn't believe it but I sure tried to convince myself.

Finally a set of new eyes and new tests were able to give me answers and a diagnosis. So don't give up. I would get a new pair of eyes to look at the tests and symptoms. However Canada may be different and you may not be able to get those new eyes. If that is the case and they have not found anything that may be fatal than I would just be sure you are comfortable. That they are treating and controlling your pain.

Again please let us know how you are doing. We all care about your pain and obviously you. Take Care, Tuck

Hello Mollyrae & Tuckamore.

Thanks for all the questions, Yes I have had an MRI- X-Rays and an EMG also.

It's all very much a puzel to myself and the doctors yet. nobody understands what to do more then the test they have done, they have not given me Neurontin ? maybe due to nothing showing up on all the testing... and yes I have had and still sometimes get the shooting down the back of my legs, but I have been taking glucosamine- and vitamine D- and Pro Min Tabs- and something called 'pain cure' - and taking percidan for my back also... I also go to a clinc for my degenerative disc desease & bulging disc called www.canadiandecompression.com  its suppose to help out many different things..

again im so lost with this i cant even walk and i use to be so healthy.

Hello Burningthighs, I am sorry you are in so much pain and are experiencing a burning sensation. It must be terrible.

I see you have had an EMG and x-rays. X-rays are the least diagnostic tool we have there are much better tests. Have you had an MRI recently? I am more inclined to believe that this may be coming from your spine. The other fact is the nerve has to be damages or impinged for a minimum of three weeks before it will show in a EMG. So I may ask for a repeat of the EMG. "Burning" pain is difficult to treat. Are you on a drug to treat nerve pain such as neurontin? It will not sure the source of the pain but it will help ease the burning.

I always advise members to see another physician if they are not getting any acceptable answers. A new set of eyes and a repeat of tests may reveal the source of your pain. I would encourge you to do so.

Please keep us posted and let us knpow how you are progressing. We are here to support you. Take care, Tuck

Hi Burningthighs> Sorry for the troubles. Have you had any type of nerve tests done like an EMG? I know that thighs, legs and feet can be effected when you have Back troubles. I currently have a slipped disk and have for a couple of years. The Doc is keeping an eye on it but lately I have had pain in my lower back along with pain running down my thigh, leg and foot with tingling in the toes. Does that sound familiar?

Have you seen a Doctor recently for this? Or had a recent X-ray, scan, MRI? I would request this if you have not done so already.

Take care and good luck,
Mollyrae
