calcaneous fracture
I sustained a calcaneous fracture after stepping on a land mine in Afghanistan on deployment in June 2010. Being almost a year after the injury I am having severe pain in my heel. I am not able to walk more than 25 minutes, run, or jump, and I have trouble walking on anything other than a flat surface. I spoke to a physical therapist, ortho. doc, and a podiatrist and they said that nothing can fix my foot. I figure I will be better off getting an amputation of my right foot if in the long run my pain is going to increase.
