I'm glad you are going to the doctor. Sherry and Tuck are both very smart ladies. But there is nothing that replaces a doctor. I hope it's something that a little medication or change in lifestyle for a few day won't cure. Good luck. And let us know the outcome!
Thank you everyone. I havn't consulted my doctor yet because it doesnt happen that much, maybe once a week or so. When it does happen, yes its hard to take a deep breathe. i will definantly make an appointment though because it has been occuring more frequently than before. It seems the more tired I am when I go to bed the more often I get the morning tightness. I will keep you posted. Thank you soi much the suggestions!
Hi and Welcome,
I'm sorry to hear about the chest pains that you are experiencing, I know how painful and frightening they can be, especially for someone your age.
I experienced something similar about 10 years ago and I was having some major GI problems, so like Tuck said that is definitely something that you should check out. What caused mine was the amount of Tylenol I had been taking for an VERY long time and wound up taking both Nexium AND Protonix for my condition.
Now remember like Tuck said none of us are Dr.s so please consult your Dr. and explain everything that is going on and let him diagnose what's going on with you.
I hope that you will post and update and let us know the results and how you are doing.Best Wishes and Good Luck....Sherry
Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing undiagnosed chest pain. Please know that there are no physicians on this forum. We are all chronic pain suffers.
Yes your pain could be related to spinal structure issues but more importantly what are your physicians telling you?
Chest pain is nothing to be ignored. I hope you have heard a thorough clinical evaluation. If not please do so.
Have they considered costochondritis? Costochondritis is an inflammation of a rib or the cartilage connecting a rib. This is a common cause of chest-wall pain.
Pleurisy is another possibility. Does it hurt to take a deep breath?
GERD or GI conditions are may be another consideration. Only your PCP can help you find a diagnosis. If your current physician is unable to find solutions for you I suggest that you seek another opinion. Sometimes a physician connected to a large teaching hospital will have better answers. A new set of eyes can sometimes see the picture in greater detail.
Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Take Care,
~Tuck
