dope sick while still taking meds?

I have been taking Morphine sulfate for several years.  In the past year, I have had to increase my dosage and now take 30 mgs IR 4 times a day and 30 mgs CR at night.  I know my body is "dependent" on this medication, but I am not an abuser.  I always follow the prescription and most times take less than prescribed.

2 days ago, I started experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms.  My doctor authorized me to take up to 6 IR a day if needed.  I never took that much but several days (not consecutive) I did take 5.

On Monday, I took one IR at 4 PM and the symptoms kicked it again. The nausea, sweating, internal tremors (probably external ones too).  This F****** *****.

I pulled myself off the IR and most of the symptoms are much less, except I still feel the need to sleep a LOT,  Like about 18 hrs a day.

Can anyone help me with experiencing "dope sickness" while still taking their meds?  My pain mgmt. dr assured me that it can't be the morphine.  But I felt better after backing away from the IR.

Its ok. No harm. You were asking a legit question.
Yes since you stopped the IR your dosage dropped dramatically even though you were still taking the CR and you were experiencing withdrawal.
The pain increase because your brain is used to having the extra meds.
It will heal and become accustomed to the new dosage.
Take hot Epsom salt baths, magnesium/ potassium/ calcium tabs,
It will help with the pain. Also take OTC Motrin, aleve.
How are you feeling today? Make sure you stayed hydrated and try to eat it will help with your healing.
Please look up hyperalgesia, it is opiate induced pain. Pain
Actually increases long term on opiates.
Sending healing, prayers, peace, comfort, encouragment,
Debbie

Sorry, I would LOVE to get off my meds but at the moment it isn't possible.  However, since this is an addiction forum, I thought maybe someone had experienced withdrawals while taking their meds. I don't know how this could trigger a problem for others but my deepest apologies are sent out.  I meant NO HARM.  As someone who's been through withdrawals, through no fault of my own, I understand the struggles that everyone is going or has gone through.

atthebeach.  Thank you.  Yes, I totally stopped taking the morphine IR on Monday.  I felt a lot better Tues and today, but still not up to snuff.  My pain is off the charts but I'm afraid to take the IR due to having all those symptoms on Sunday and Monday.  I would love NOTHING better than to be pill free but until I can find out WHY I am having so much pain, it's not feasible.

I was hysterical a little while ago due to the pain but I didn't want to take the IR because (like my hubby says), it's like trying to choose between 2 handfuls of dog crap and knowing you HAVE to eat one of them.

I apologize to the forum for putting this in the wrong place, but I was hoping someone would be able to help.  This wasn't a PAIN MGMT question but drug related.  Thanks.

Unless you are looking for help in getting off of your pain meds this is not the community to discuss this. It triggers those who are struggling. I hope you understand. there is a pain management community where you can get support. Best of luck.

anyone?

I should mention that I am allergic or "sensitive" to every other pain medication on the market.  I've had all kinds of nasty reactions to them.

Now that the morphine has turned on me (or my body has said no more), I am at a loss as what to do.  I need to feel better LAST WEEK!

I have the care of my granddaughters in the mornings and afternoons 5 days a week so I don't need this crap!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
