Hi:
Although Epidurals work on some folks, there are the other folks that don't get any relief from them. In fact, some people note additional pain after the Epidural.
Now I'm not saying that this happens a lot or to most ppl, but it has happened. Tuck gave you a good description on the legnth of time they last...it's basically up to the person and the actual injection.
I hope the injection works for you.
My best,
Mollyrae
Hi Charley,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum.
What type of epidural do you mean? Are you inquiring about a steroidal injection into your spine, hip, knee joint or other area?
If you are asking about the steroid injections into a joint or spine the pain releif can last from days to months. In some ppl after several injections the effects can last for years. Much depends on the location, the specific condition, the skill of the practitioner and how your body responds to the treatment.
I have had several. I have hip bursitis periodically. One steroid injection takes care of that severe pain for several years. I also have sacroiliac joint dysfunction. I've had several injections for that with no significant relief.
I hope I understood your question correctly and that my response helps address your concerns. If you would like to clarify your question and provide more information it would be helpful.
Best of luck and please take care.
