Lowish blood pressure is around 100-110 systolic over 70-75 diastolic; "normal" blood pressure is 120/80, and highish is anything with diastolic above 90 - usually 140/90 is considered to be high. My experience of lyrica and tegretol is that both may cause blood pressure to rise. Lyrica may also increase fluid retention and fat gain: both of these may elevate blood pressure. In my case cholesterol went up while on lyrica so they have prescribed crestor for cholesterol - and my blood pressure went up again! Possibly cholesterol lowering agents can affect blood pressure as well.

Short answer is lyrica might be a culprit for you. As others have said, opioids/opiates typically lower blood pressure rather than elevate it.

Sorry, I wasn't finished...Your bottom number of 110 is really high and needs to be addressed. Please make an appt. to see your Doc before it really does damage to your heart.

Is this something new for you, your blood pressure being this high? A normal reading should be 140/90 or lower. In the newer literature they actually say the systolic (the higher number) should be below 130. It really depends on what doctor you see and if they go by the newer or older literature. What would be more concerning is your diastolic reading. That is when your heart is at rest so you definitely want it to be under 90. It is somewhat high being over 110.
You also have to remember when you are in pain your blood pressure tends to rise. As chronic pain patients we tend to get "used" to the pain and our vitals will not show the pain we are in because our body becomes acclamated to the pain being there, unless the pain is somewhat more than we are used to. That is another reason why some doctors have a hard time believing the amount of pain we are in because our vitals do not rise like it would if it were an acute injury.
You are also young to have hypertension, although it is not unheard of, especially if you have a family history of hypertension. Being as young as you are you really need to be talking to your doctor about this. You do not want it to get out of control and cause damage. There are many tests doctors can do to see what is going on. What bp med did they put you on? Hopefully it is not something you will have to take for the longrun.
Good luck and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.       Audrea
