foot pain

I am 42 yr old fm and on Dec of 09 I had a heel spur removed for plantar facieities. Spelled wrong. sorry. But since surgery I have been in unberrable pain. After telling my dr. time and time again. I decided to get a second opinion. and a third. Had a cast put on for a month. and now just seeing how things will be since cast taken off on July 30 2010. Pain seemed to be better with cast but now pain is so bad. going back earlier than schedualed because I can't stand the pain. sharp stabbing along with burning, it goes from big too, along outside of foot and surgery site. also along the botton of the arche, I had a scan done in march which lited up all over my foot. Pain does also raideate up my leg, as far as past the knee. Im so tired of pain... specially when Im on it its worse. Went shopping for 2 hrs and pain is debilitating. haven't worked but maybe 2 weeks since sugery....no one is helping, what can this be?

OH my goodness, I am so sorry to hear of your pain.  I do agree with Sherry about a second opinion.  This could be any number of things.  I wouldn't want to venture a guess but nerve damage came to my mind as well.  But if I were you, I'd ask for a referral to the best orthopedist who does foot surgery in your area.  Your primary care doctor can do this for you.

Good luck to you.  Please keep us updated on how you're doing and what the doctors say.

You are not alone. I suffer from foot/ankle pain... I have had fusion... I am on meds and still can barely make it through the day... but please remember you are not alone. Hope you find some relief and good luck.

Hi meemaw,

I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad that you found this Forum.  I need to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. We are ALL CP (Chronic Pain) Patients  that help each other through our own expertise and experiences that we have gained fromw our own CP Issues.

I'm VERY sorry about what you are experiencing after the MINOR surgery for removing your heel spur.  I'm wondering if there has possibly been some nerve damage to your foot in some way.

You need to get a second opinion, if necessary, IF your Doctor can't figure out what's happening.  Has he NOT given you ANY idea whatsoever about what's happening to your foot??

I wish you the best and HOPE that you will keep us updated on what is happening with you......Sherry
