Gel injections are given to mimic the body’s natural lubricating properties and provide temporary relief for an undetermined period of time. They are usually given in those cases where conservative measures have proven ineffective. These injections are usually given over a period of 3-5 injections over 3-6 months.The side effects are usually related to the injection like pain, swelling, inflammation around the injection site. A person allergic to egg, poultry products should avoid these as they can cause severe allergic reactions. Do keep me posted.
