head pain with burning sensation

Every so often i get a sharp pain in the back of my head. It is followed by a burning sensastion that feels warm to the touch. It usually lasts around 45 seconds, although the last one lasted about two and a half minutes, and then the pain and burning is gone. It almost feels as though I pulled something. It usually happens when i turn my head or look up quickly but not always. What could this be?

Hi tarmat:

It sounds like a nerve to me. You could very well have a nerve issue involving the neck area. If this doesn't stop then it might be a good idea to have it checked out by a Physician.
Please take care,
Mollyrae
