I wanted to add that you can also get a Florida ID with no problem. They will accept that as ID as well as  drivers licence.
there are some excellent doctors here you just have to keep looking. Check your local hospitals as they usually have a referral line.

Meant to ask if there's ANYWAY that your OLD PM Doctor in Bridgeport, NY can give you the prescriptions that you need UNTIL you can get the FL License that they require?  It's just a thought as I KNOW that when I moved to AZ from TN, my Doctor in TN made SURE that I had enough refills to get me through UNTIL I could find a PM Doctor here.  Hope that helps you in someway.   :)  It's at LEAST worth a try.  When you search again for a PM Doctor PLEASE be sure that you DON'T fall into a trap of ANOTHER "Pill Mill" Doctor as I would HATE to see you wind up in the DAME predicament again.  By the way I KNOW that it won't take you months to get a FL license as all you have to do is take your OLD NY License to th Driver's license bureau and you can get one that VERY same day.  That's what I did here in AZ.  It's REALLY not as difficult as you are AFRAID it will be.

Again, I wish you the VERY best of luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Sherry  :)

Hi no1bep,

First, I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum, only CP  {Chronic Pain}  Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues.

I'm sorry that you are having pain and don't have the documentation that the ALL PM {Pain Management) Doctor's require.  BUT we DON'T recommend PM Doctors OR PM Clinics on MH {MedHelp}.  Just because my PM Doctor works for me DOESN'T mean that he/she would be a good fit for someone else.  :{

We ALWAYS recommend that you search the internet, which I'm assuming that you have done.  SINCE your PM Doctor disappeared on you, I'm afraid that you had chosen one that was one of the "Pill Mills" that are rampant in Florida.  I REALLY feel terrible for you as I'm sure you are VERY frightened.  I would suggest that you start IMMEDIATELY to get what ever documentaion that they are requiring { a Florida license} so that you can get the help that you need.  In Florida they have been OVER-RUN with the "Pill Mills" and they have people from the ENTIRE eastern seaboard RUSHING down to Florida to get the "Pills" that the "Pill Mills" are handing out "like candy" and THAT'S why you MUST show PROOF that you LIVE in Florida by means of a FL License.  :{

I wish you the VERY best and HOPE that you will "start the process" IMMEDIATELY so that you can receive the help that you DESERVE!!

Best of Luck and I HOPE that you will let us know WHEN you have found a reputable PM Doctor that will be able to help you...........Sherry  :)
