I forgot to mention that you need a thyroid panel (TSH, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies) to get your Free T3 checked (yes it is tested and not obsolete-- testing T3 levels is obsolete but NOT Free T3 there is a big difference in the two.)

Has anyone checked your free T3 levels researchers are finding that fibro patients have T3 resistance?

Also my sis has fibro and besides getting some T3 via armour thyroid she is also on a gluten and dairy free diet. This has helped a ton plus she limits her intake of caffeine. Also has anyone ever prescribed doxipan is a tricyclic anti-depressent that helps nerve pain.

I hope this helps,

You have to find a good pain specialist. Ask your doctor to refer you to one. Good luck.

You'll figure it out.  How long ago were you diagnosed?  I never found vicodin helpful with the fibro.  There are better meds for it.

I was diagnosed nearly 13 years ago after my 4th baby.  It was very hard in the beginning.  I don't care for the meds that are generally used for fibro (Lyrica made me gain weight rapidly and Neurontin makes me very foggy.)  But they're worth a try as some people find great relief.

Fibro is not life-threatening but it is life-changing.  I still have bad flare-ups but have managed fairly well.  For me, exercise is important.  I started with swimming and sort of figured it out for myself.

What kind of doctor are you seeing?  You need someone who is well-versed in this.  I'd suggest a rheumatologist or pain management specialist.  But ultimately, you'll have to figure out what works best for you as everyone is different.
