infection in my incision

I am 10 weeks post op for a spinal fusion...which they went through my tummy!! i woke up yesturday with horrible pain in my incision site to where you would think it was open, but incision looks great!!! Called my dr and they said it is just inflammation from therapy, without even looking at me. I was so mad....so I went to the e.r. and they did an ultrasound on me and found out that I have infection under my incision and put me on 2 antibiiotics at the same time. So, my question is how did i get this infection at this late stage after my surgery and has this happened to anyone else?????????????

thanks....I plan too!!!! It has been one thing after another since this surgery, and this dr. just doesnt seen to care!!!! I need a new one big time. I am looking for a new dr. but scared that nobody will take me after been operated on!!!

Hi I do not know how you got the infection but I would be very upset with my physician if I were you.  I would go back to the surgeon and tell him what happened and ask him how you could have gotten an infection.
On the other hand it is possible that your immune system could not fight off infection after the major surgery.
