Sorry to hear this but my wife was on methadoneMethadone Methadone hydrochloride for 4 years and she need some thing more than that. So the answer to this is no it will not get better but you can manage the pain to a point. Yes get off the methadoneMethadone Methadone hydrochloride and try a new drug and in six months do a change and hopefully you run a cycle of drugs that work for you. You can become intorllent to methadoneMethadone Methadone hydrochloride and need more and more which means the body has had to much. I wish you the best on this keeping changing the drugs up and you should be good.
Everyone's systems responds differently to medications. It is now thought that it is much more likely that your pain increases instead of that you develop any extreme tolerance.
If you want to withdrawal from methadone the only safe way is with the help of your physician. He/she can offer a program and support medication to ease you through the process. It is unsafe to attempt this on your own.
Good luck and please let us know how you are doing.
