medication and trouble urinating

Hi all,

I seem to have some issues with my neck and back as well as fibro.  I am due for a CT at whatever time the insurance company sees fit to approve the test.  This pain is way diff than the pain of fibro, more intense, sharp, ripping and less diffuse.  My movement is severely limited and I cannot sleep due to the pain.

As such, I have been taking all of my prescription medications, Adivan, Norco, Zanaflex together (all prescribed).  Usually, I will spread the medication out or not even take as much as recommend.  I can go for a week without an adivan and days without a muscle relaxant.  Now, I am taking them all as often as I can and, gulp, maybe a bit more than that.  Sorry, but the pain is horrific.   As a result, I have had trouble urinating for the past few days.  I urinate a lot, drink a lot of water and often wake up 5x night to use the restroom.

I drank about 120oz of water today.  Only water, that is not including coffee, soda and a vita water.  I have urinated maybe 6 times but very little (like dribbles) and not the normal deep yellow.  However, a few times it did burn and was dark urine.  I dont want to overreact or have a case of "too much information" so I am assuming this is a medication issue but would be comfortated to know if any of you have heard of this or exprienced it.

Thanks,
worried

I would defineatly say something to my PCP.  Trouble urinating. but got caught up in the barick pain and troubleshooting can be a sign of a greater and dangerous nerve disorder that needs to be addresse right away.  I am battling the same problem in a soap address.

All the best

Hi Dshell,

Don't assume that your urinary tact problems are from the medications. I find that highly unlikely. You should contact your PCP today. What you are experiencing is concerning. Your symptoms could be indicative of a nasty UTI or other similar and related conditions.

Severe spinal problems can also effect the functions of your bladder and bowels. Please let us know how you aer doing. I will watch for your updates.

Take Care,
Tuck

Hi sorry for you're problems I hope you find some answers.
One thing that is very common with certain medications is 'trouble urinating' please check the side effects of the meds you are on to see if one has this as a problem....I would certainly notify my doctor as well.
good luck
